What’s the itinerary again?
Friday, June 28: arrive at Coloma River Resort to enjoy the river and have a family-style camp dinner with us.
Saturday, June 29: Play at the river! Wedding ceremony will be outdoors in the Marshall Gold Discovery state park at 5 pm. Reception, dinner, and dancing to follow at the Grange Hall.
Sunday, June 30: Pancake breakfast at Coloma River Resort
Where should I stay?
Stay with us at the Coloma River Resort! We have multiple options for accommodations on hold for you at the Coloma River Resort to help facilitate the community atmosphere we love. Simply let us know your preferences when you RSVP.
There is plenty of space! The reserved spots will accommodate all invited guests with some room to spare. There are a number of options including tent camping on the river, RV sites to park your rad van, and bunks in air conditioned bunk houses. All of these have access to bathrooms, showers, covered picnic areas, a pool, and the gorgeous American River.
If you prefer, there are other nearby options available at American River Resort in Coloma, the Historic Cary House and a Best Western in nearby Placerville, and many options in Sacramento which is an hour away.
I’d love to camp, but what about gear?
Are you traveling far and/or don’t have camping gear? Do not let this deter you from camping!! We will provide tents, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags for your party! Just let us know when you RSVP.
What’s the weather going to be like?
It’s going to be hot! Plan to wear comfortable clothes and don’t forget your sun hat for the outdoor ceremony on the river bank!
Evening temperatures are likely to be in the 80s.
What should I wear?
Casual warm weather attire is advised for comfort, but feel free to bring your bling if it makes you happy! We recommend sun hats, coverups, and parasols!
Essentials to bring to enjoy time by the river before the wedding and reception:

Meals?
Yes! We will provide simple camping community meals Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Breakfast will include coffee, milk, cereal, granola, yogurt, fruit, etc. Lunch will include sandwich fixings for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, plus veggies and fruit. Let us know if you have dietary restrictions and we can work to accommodate.
Friday night there will be family style camp dinner — not sure what yet!
Saturday’s reception will have a cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, then a buffet style dinner.
Sunday morning pancake breakfast
There is a camp store within the resort, as well as a cafe within walking distance across the river.
Plan to bring any other food you may want to snack upon. We will have coolers with beer and other beverages at the campground for you to enjoy.
Anything I should know about transportation or parking?
The Coloma River Resort is located approximately 1 hr from Sacramento or 2.5 hrs from San Francisco. Placerville is also only 15 min away.
$10 park entrance fee for folks not staying at the resort
Please note in your RSVP the number of cars in your party
During the ceremony and reception parking is available at the state park for $10/car
Did Brook and Brian register anywhere?
Nope! We hope rather than gifts, our guests will bring a mindset of participation and contribution to everyone’s lovely weekend. Your involvement is greatly appreciated in making our wedding special and unique.
